The Novi Fire Department is currently accepting applications for Paid-on-Call Fire Fighters. To be eligible, applicants must have a High School Diploma, must be 18 years old, must live within five miles of city limits, and must have no criminal record and a good driving record. Michigan Fire Fighter I & II and State EMT are preferred, however, all individuals meeting the minimum qualifications as described above will receive required training. Paid-on-Call Fire Fighters provide coverage of nights and weekends. This part time position responds to alarms or requests for service, acts in emergencies such as storms, medical emergencies, extinguishing fires and performs service work as directed. You will work under the supervision of the Director of EMS/Fire Operations or designated supervisor.

The Candidate Physical Agility Test (CPAT) is one of several pre-employment tests a potential Novi Fire Department candidate must successfully pass. The City of Novi will pay for the first attempt for candidates being considered for a position. The candidate must pay for additional tests. The test is given at Schoolcraft College. Compensation:   All equipment and uniforms are provided along with a good wage and benefit package.

Recruit $9.79  
I $12.68 (probation) State Fire Fighter I & II or State EMT License
II $18.99 State Fire Fighter I & II and MFR License
III $21.53 State Fire Fighter I & II and State EMT License
Auxiliary $21.53 per hour and benefit package
