The CITY OF NOVI, a thriving and desirable community of 60,000+ population, located in Oakland County, SE Michigan, is looking for a Human Resources professional to assume the role of Deputy Director of Human Resources.

You will work collaboratively with our HR Team and other City Leadership to maximize the potential of our greatest asset our employees. We embrace change and the opportunity it brings. The Deputy Director of Human Resources will aid the department in a variety of HR disciplines including:

  • Coaching and Mentoring;
  • Compensation;
  • Health and Retirement administration;
  • Labor Negotiations;
  • Performance Management;
  • Programming and delivery of a diverse and robust Wellness and Engagement Program.
  • Recruitment and Selection;
  • Research and Implement HR best practices;
  • Risk and Safety;
  • Training and Development;
  • Worker's Compensation;

Qualifications: Successful candidates must have at least five years of experience in the areas identified above. Must possess a BA/BS Degree in HR or closely related field (equivalencies will be considered). Municipal experience with a passion for public service is highly preferred. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, IPMA, PHR, SPHR, or CLRP certifications highly preferred.

Salary/Hours: $73,810 - $88,000 DOQ with comprehensive benefit package. 40 hours per week. Monday-Friday 8-5.
